Hello!
For my video draft, I decided to create a video of my friends modeling winter outfits that could possibly be worn in Pullman. Since my topic is fashion, I thought a good idea for my video was to dress my friends up and record them walking (like a runway). After I figured out what I was going to do for the video I had to ask two of my friends to model. Anna (1stin the video) and Emma (2ndin the video) both gave me their permission to use them in my project.
To begin, I recorded my closet to be the opening clip in my video. I then recorded my friend Anna wearing an outfit that would be worn walking to class in the winter. When Anna got to the end of the hall I explained what she was wearing. I did the same thing with Emma, but she was wearing an outfit to go out in at night. Once I got all my footage I imported it into Premiere Pro. I added a title to the beginning of my video like we learned in the tutorials. I also added titles explaining what outfit was being worn. After that, I added the effect “dip to black” to the ends of each video because it was a nice transition. The last thing I edited in was the music. I downloaded music from one of our old tutorials and cut it off when I was talking about the clothes. I also added the effect “exponential fade” to the beginnings and ends of the music clips.
One thing I did have trouble with was the music. In my final, I am going to have music throughout the video, but just quieter at the points when I talk. This will keep a continuous flow in my video story. I also might re-record video footage so it is less shakey. Overall, I like my draft and am excited to edit it next week, enjoy!
I think that this was the perfect video idea for your topic and it was well done. I like how you had the music go, then you slowly move the camera up to tell what each piece of clothing is. Some recommendations are potentially play with other text fonts because this one could be hard to read for some people. I would also keep the text Outfit 1 walking to class on the screen a little longer so that everyone has time to read it. I also don’t think rerecording the walkways is necessary because to me it wasn’t that shaky. I would maybe rerecord the short video in beginning of your closet and just keep a wide view so people can clearly see you have a passion for clothes/fashion. It is clear you know what you want to do with this project and I think you will do great.

For the draft of my video project, I thought I did an okay job. I really enjoyed the fonts I chose for my video because they are very fun and represent my personality. Some suggestions I have for myself are to change the background music, edit the walking footage so it’s a little shorter and maybe add another one of my friends modeling an outfit. I really did not like my background music, but I was having trouble finding other music in a short amount of time. I also need to cut my footage down so it is not as slow and drawn out. I might add another clip of an outfit if I can get another one of my friends to agree to model it. This would make my video longer and more interesting. I really did like the way I set up my video and just think I need to make a couple tweaks.

Hey Ruby, really good rough draft video I like the fashion show idea you have going on here. I also like the song choice for this video you chose. A couple things I think that could improve this video are different angles of the model when you are showing the different clothing items. I like how the model walks in, but I think some simple cuts to show the other clothing items would be cool. I would also increase the narration audio slightly to make it a little more even with the music. Overall though this looks really good for a rough draft!

Hi Ruby. I really like the topic of this video. I am also into fashion so this was fun to watch. I like the beginning shot of all the clothes in the closet; it made me think “ooh, what combinations am I going to see” which I think is a really great introduction to the video. Some suggestions I have would be, when you’re narrating, instead of silencing the music completely, just silence it a little so the audience can still hear you but still have a consistency of music so it doesn’t feel abrupt when it goes off and comes back on. Also, when you’re talking about the outfits, maybe type out the type of clothing and where it is from beside the clothes as you show them. It would make the video more interactive and would be cool if someone watches it and wants to get the same item. Otherwise, I really enjoyed watching your video and I hope the final project works out for you. 🙂
