Final Logo

Hey everyone!

For my logo design project, I decided to create a logo for my very own fashion line. I got this idea because my overall blog topic is fashion; I thought what better way to explain fashion than a fashion line itself? I got my inspiration from fashion logos like Channel, Versace and Louis Vuitton.

While going through my design process, I decided I wanted one of the elements in my design to be a woman in a dress to portray fashion. The other key elements I included were my initials, the phase “fashion line”, and a curved line with hearts on the end. These elements are significant to my blog because it is a logo for my own clothing line!

Before working on my logo in Illustrator, I chose a photo from Pixabay to use as a reference in my design (link below). It is a photo of a women in a dress and I used the pen tool to trace around the edges of women and her dress. I then made the image all black because I just wanted the silhouette of the women. After that I created my initials using the font Dinasty that I downloaded from https://www.dafont.com/dinasty.font

For my final draft, I edited my design a significant amount. I used a lot of the feedback I got from my teacher and peers. One piece of feedback I received was to move my initials from behind the silhouette to in front of it. I was also told I should choose a more fun color than red for my initials, and I agreed. I decided to go with a light pink because it is one of my favorite colors.  I also added the phase “fashion line” to make my design clearer. I downloaded the font I used for the phrase “fashion line” from https://www.dafont.com/isabella-script.font . Another tweak I made to my design from draft to final was making the silhouette much larger and same with my initials. The last thing I added to my design was a curvy line and hearts using the pen tool and the anchor point tool. I thought this would add the perfect amount of spice to my final logo!

I really enjoyed completing this project and love the final outcome of my design, enjoy!

Logo Draft Project

Hello!

For my logo project I decided to create a logo for my very own fashion line. I got this idea from scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram and noticing lots of designer brand logos; some of my favorite were Channel, Versace and Louis Vuitton. My logo relates to my fashion blog because it is for a fashion line!

After scrolling through my phone, I got onto my laptop and looked through Flickr and Pixabay. I searched designer logos and other things like women in dresses, manikins and sketches of outfit designs. After my research, I came across a photo on Pixabay and decided to use it as a reference and alter the appearance of it (link is below/free commercial use). I went back to the illustrator tutorials on our class blog and re-watched the last one in order to cut out the woman in the photo.

After watching the video, I used the pen tool and cut out the silhouette of the women in the dress. Then, I suffered the web looking for fonts I liked and would want to download. After looking through a ton of fonts I finally found one I really liked called Dinasty. I downloaded this font that I found on https://www.dafont.com and created my initials, RF. To make my design pop more I decided to use red as the main color and gray as the stroke color. After having all three elements done, I moved them around to create what I have below.

Some challenges I faced using Illustrator were the gradient tool, the pen tool and moving photos from the front to back. I couldn’t figure out what colors I wanted to use in the gradient tool so I will complete that in my final. The pen tool was hard because I had trouble creating curves. Lastly, I wasn’t able to move my initials to in front of the women silhouette.

For my final draft, I will probably change the colors and make them pop more by using the gradient tool. I played around with yellow and pink and might revert back to those colors. I will also make the silhouette of the woman look more polished in my draft. I may want to alter her dress more and make it less puffy.

Logo Sketch Ideas

Hello! Below, I have two sketches that I have drawn for my fashion line logo because I don’t know which one I want to use yet. The top one has a needle and thread weaving throughout the design and the second one has a manikin in-between my initials. At the moment, I don’t know what design I will use for my rough and final draft.

Final Graphic Design Project

Hello everyone!

For my final graphic design project, I decided to make a poster of my favorite fashion moments in 2018. I got this idea while scrolling through my camera roll and seeing some pictures from the New Year’s Eve concert, Resolution, I attended.

For my initial draft, I complied six photos of my favorite outfits. Two photos were from festivals, two from a formal dance and two from nights going out. While putting these photos together, I had the idea of editing them into black and white. I thought this would be a cool effect to do and add pops of bright colors in my final project. I liked this idea because I thought it was very aesthetically pleasing. With those six photos, I was going to add red shapes and text in the back to fill in the blank space. Although, after I received feedback on my draft from my teacher and peers my idea shifted.

The feedback I received from my peers was very helpful. One young man said he liked my idea of the photos, but thought I should only focus on a couple photos. He also mentioned making my draft into a poster or magazine cover. I really liked his suggestions and took them in mind. Another girl commented on my draft post and said I should clean up my editing lines because they were a little choppy. So, in my final draft I fixed up the lines to make it look more professional. The last form of feedback I received was from my teacher. She said I should add a bright color, like red, to bring the piece to life. All of this feedback really helped me improve my ideas and final design.

For my final draft, I decided I wanted to make a poster for my blog showing my favorite fashion moments in 2018. I got this idea from my feedback comments (thank you!). I had to make drastic changes to my draft to create my final. First, I changed from six photos to only three photos. I did this because I thought six photos was a little cluttering. Second, I chose a new third photo because I thought it showed my outfit better. Two of the photos in my final draft I took (the left and center photo) and the photo on the right was taken by my friend Emily Burns and she allowed me to use it for this project. After getting my three favorite photos edited to black and white I had to think of a background. Earlier in the year at home, I saw a mural like the one I created in my final and used it as a reference. I created the background by using the ellips tool, lines tool and the polygon tool. After the background was done I placed my three photos on top and thought it needed a title. I downloaded the font from https://www.dafont.com/ and typed my title: “Fashion Moments”. After I added the title I loved my finished poster, enjoy!

Draft of Graphic Design Project

Hello!

For my Graphic Design Project I chose to put together photos emphasizing my unique fashion from some of my favorite nights! There are three categories I want to cover in my final style project: music concerts, formals and Friday night outfits. In addition, I wanted to play with black & white photos and add words, text and other images in bright colors for the final. The photos I collected were all from my camera roll and for my final I will collect more photos from websites like Flickr. In my draft, I have no color at the moment because I am unsure of how I want to incorporate it. I got the idea of black & white photos with pops of color from magazines. In the past, I have seen magazine photos in black & white with titles or text in bright red and my eye was intrigued. I decided I wanted to try this type of art and see how well it could work with fashion photos.

The process for creating my project was a little difficult. I first had to think of a fashion idea and how I wanted to express my favorite looks. I started going through my camera roll and noticed all of my favorite outfits came from an eventful night, and that is how I chose my topic: fun night out outfits.

For the photos in my project I had to cut out each of the backgrounds in order for them to look cleaner and more polished. I then had to fit them all together so they lined up nicely. I used lots of layers and will continue to add more with text and pops of color. Some technical issues I faced were creating a colored textbox and fitting all of the photos in one space. I will be watching more tutorials in the future to ensure my final project looks the way I want it. Enjoy!

Image Collection

These photos are of my favorite clothing and accessory brands; Levi’s has a wide selection of quality jeans and Free People has an abundant amount of trendy jewelry.

For my Levi’s photo and the photo of me, I asked my friend Emily Burns’ to take them and if I can use them for a project; she said yes. The photo of the ear was taken by me.

Introducing my blog

For my blog topic I chose, fashion! I decided to make this blog about fashion because it means a lot to me. Ever since I was a child, I enjoyed to dress up and have a different style from everybody else. This allowed me to express myself in a million different ways and still does. Fashion makes me happy because there are endless amounts of new trends and designs, meaning fashion will never die. It will always progress and continue to thrive.

My posts will be focused on me and my friends fashion. Right now, I live with three of my best friends and can catch raw footage of their fashion everyday. I plan to take video and pictures of them throughout the week. I will also be posting an audio story, for one of my assignments, of me talking about how I begin to shop in Downtown Seattle. For another one of my projects, I will be making a fashion board. This board will represent my fashion style and me in general!

I get a lot of my clothing ideas from other fashion bloggers and magazines. Below I will post three of my favorite fashion links.

1. I really enjoy Egg Canvas’s blog because it is so clean and organized. At the bottom of her blog are her OOTD posts and they are my favorite.

2. Porter magazine is a great place to get raw, high fashion, looks and learn to transform them into casual everyday outfits.

3. My last go to fashion page is vogue because I really enjoy looking at unique high fashion outfits.
